Swarthmore is an incorporated borough, named after its center piece, Swarthmore College (pictured at left). Being a small, quaint area, too small for its own public school system, Swarthmore joined with Wallingford to form the Wallingford-Swarthmore School District. Today, this is one of the best public school districts in Pennsylvania. The Swarthmore train station provides an easy commute into Philadelphia (Media-Elwyin line), and the surrounding town has a quaint, comfortable feel that is easy to fall in love with.
